Liquid Roofing Systems

Liquid roofing waterproofing systems are applied to your roof in liquid form, which quickly cures to form a solid waterproof membrane. Bitumen was the first form of liquid waterproofing system and has been used for this purpose for thousands of years. Over recent decades there have been huge advances in liquid waterproofing technology and there are now a number of other liquid waterproofing systems available. Most of these liquid systems can be installed cold and are typically applied using a brush, spray or roller.

More and more people are now choosing liquid roofing systems, which offer a number of benefits:

  • Seamless - free from joints, seams, fixings and other potential risk areas
  • Maintenance - liquid roofing systems can be used to protect an entire roof or as a repair material for maintenance applications
  • Versatile - liquid roofing systems are versatile and can be rapidly installed on most substrates. The membrane adheres fully to the substrate and becomes an integral part of the substrate
  • Complex roof detail - the seamless nature of the product makes for ease of application to even the most complex roof detail
  • Simple installation – liquid roof systems are fast to complete causing minimal disruption to the client
  • Energy efficient - provide added UV protection which can protect the existing roof from the harmful effects of UV
  • Chemical resistant – provide superior chemical resistance to many oils, acids and other contaminants
  • Cold Applied – provide a good solution to heat senstive areas where it is not possible to use a roofing system that is applied with heat from a naked flame
  • Balconies / walkways – provide a good anti slip surface and good resistance to foot traffic

Liquid roofing systems can be utilised in both new build or refurbishment projects and offer a wide range of solutions to suit the specifiers requirements. In refurbishment situations liquid roofing systems are usually applied over the existing waterproofing, therefore removal of the existing system is avoided. Correctly installed liquid roofing systems can provide a long term solution to your roofing requirements, often in excess of 25 years. Liquid roofing systems are very versatile and can be used on flat, pitched, even domed roofs along with balconies, walkways and other structural applications.

Cold applied liquid roofing systems provide an excellent alternative to built up bitumen reinforced roofing systems or EPDM roofing systems, with a proven life expectancy.
