RG Leverett - Proud to be a Member of the Confederation of Roofing Contractors

29/11/2016

Building industry trade associations will not let unqualified builders register with them. The easiest way to establish whether your builder is qualified to undertake expensive alterations to your home is to check whether they have accreditations with a trading association. If you are solely reliant on the builder’s word that they are qualified to do the job, there is always the danger that you may hire a ‘cowboy builder’ - someone who falsely claims to have the skills required to undertake expensive work in your home.

At RG Leverett, we are proud to be members of all the relevant trading associations including the Confederation of Roofing Contractors.

Who are The Confederation of Roofing Contractors (CORC)?

CORC was established in 1985 and is considered to be one of the UK's leading roofing trade associations. To be a member of CORC, a roofing contractor must demonstrate that their business has good craft skills, ethical working practices and fair prices.

What’s in It for Us?

As members of CORC, we gain access to a whole range of benefits including roofing insurance deals, legal advice and member support services. We can also access the support and advice of hundreds of other roofing contractors.

What’s in It for You?

However, it is our customers who are the greatest beneficiaries of our membership of CORC. Because CORC won’t accept unqualified builders as members, our customers can rest assured that our work practices meet high standards. Say there was a problem after you had paid someone to complete some repairs on your roof. A cowboy trader could just shrug it off and keep the money. A member of CORC would face repercussions. If the problem was not fixed quickly and for free, they could be barred from the trading association and lose valuable future trade.

What other Accreditations do We Have?

CORC isn’t the only trading association we are accredited by. We also have accreditations from the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and Norfolk Trusted Traders. We are members of schemes including Constructionline, the Contractor’s Health and Safety Scheme and TrustMark. Check out our accreditations page for more details of what each of these entails.
