Choose the Right Contractor the First Time Around

17/10/2017

Doing a one-day course at your local builders’ merchant does not make you a qualified roofing contractor. Some builders’ merchants are now offering very short courses that certify builders as qualified to install roofing systems. The owner of a property in Watford contacted us after this mess was left by one such “roofer”.

Before - How the clients roof was left by the unqualified roofer

When we arrived, the roof was a mess of various half-completed structures – the previous contractors were clearly out of their depth.

Before - poor measurement by previous roofer

The poor quality of the workmanship is apparent in this close up. Measure twice cut once!

After - Laying down the new warm deck GRP system

In just two days we replaced the roof with a warm deck GRP system finished in anthracite.

After - the new warm deck finished in Anthracite

Choosing the right roofing contractor is as important as choosing the right roofing system. A badly-installed new roof may be worse than your old one! You may end up having to pay extra to fix a problem that would never have occurred if you had chosen a qualified contractor to start with.

Our Accreditations

The best way to be certain that a contractor is qualified to work on your roof is to check their accreditations. RG Leverett are accredited by a number of independent bodies. These include the National Federation of Roofing Contractors who regularly check that our practices continue to meet their high standards. We are also listed in the Norfolk Trusted Trader directory.

If you would like more information on any of our systems or services, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can call us on 01603 418818 or email any questions to enquiries@roofsuk.co.uk.

We’re always posting pictures of our work on Facebook and Twitter – we’re guessing the Watford contractor isn’t so proud of his work.
