Bituminous Flat Roof Replacement at Hollesley Bay Prison

04/05/2023

Bituminous roof covering on pump house at Hollesley Bay prison

Located in the village of Hollesley in Suffolk, Hollesley Bay is a Category D prison. Originally a Royal Air Force base during the Second World War, the site was converted into a prison in 1946.

A short distance from the main facility is the prison’s pump house building. RG Leverett were recently contracted by Holmes Builders to carry out a replacement of the flat roof on the pump house.

As ever, our friends at Tubes Scaffolding kindly erected scaffolding that enabled us to carry out our work. We began by preparing and priming the existing roof area, before covering with a brand new high performance bituminous roofing system.

Designed for both new builds and refurbishment projects, the built up felt roofing systems that we use are some of the best systems currently available on the market. Over the past 30 years we have installed thousands of square metres of bituminous roofing - so you can be confident that our team know what they are doing and will achieve a high level of finish.

However, for that added peace of mind, our bituminous roof installations include a 25 year guarantee, which covers both the materials that we’ve used and our workmanship.

If you would like help with your flat roof, our experienced team of roofers are always on hand to offer support. Simply give us a call on 01603 418818 or drop us an email to enquiries@roofsuk.co.uk and we’ll be happy to arrange a convenient day and time to visit your property and carry out a no obligation survey.
