We’ve recently been working on an exciting project up in Lancashire - the new Pendle Police Station. Our job? Installing the roofs on two stair core areas of the multi-storey car park attached to the building. It’s been a great job and fortunately the weather was on our side too, which always makes things run smoother!
You might wonder how a Norfolk-based roofing company ends up working in Lancashire. Well, we do a lot of work for Huber Parking UK Ltd, a company that specialises in building multi-storey car parks all over the UK (and beyond). They started out in Germany but now have an office right here in the UK. Over the years, we’ve worked with them on some impressive sites - Warner Brothers Studios, Whipps Cross Hospital in London, Edinburgh Park in Scotland, Lidl Belvedere in Dartford, Sky Studios Elstree, Stansted Airport, PepsiCo in Leicester, and more.

Our role in these projects usually focuses on the roofs of staircases within the car parks, but can also include some office roofs, and other areas. These roofs require a specific approach because they need to efficiently handle water drainage and stand the test of time.
For the roofing, we used a tapered insulation system that gently slopes the roof so water doesn’t pool anywhere - keeping things nice and dry. Then we covered it all with a strong Danosa Polydan bituminous membrane, which is really tough and totally waterproof, so the roof’s protected for the long haul. We finish the edges with a neat GRP trim, and custom-made lead outlets to fit perfectly into the wall outlets, making sure everything’s sealed and secure.

Projects like Pendle Police Station really show the value of using a high-performance roofing system combined with expert installation. Plus, the 25-year warranty means peace of mind for years to come.
